More information on The Bingen School Inn
This is a renovated historic schoolhouse located across from Hood River Oregon, centered in The Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area. Offering 48 hostel beds and 6 private rooms, we have a classic wooden gymnasium with indoor basketball and a rock climbing wall. The hostel features a large communal cafeteria, TV lounge, kitchen and laundry. Onsite windsurfing rentals and lessons are available. For 16 years we have been the Gorge Home to fun seekers from 45 countries who become involved in the following activities: kite-boarding, kayaking, rafting, salmon fishing, mountain biking, wine tasting, hiking, climbing, bird watching, paragliding, visiting St. Helens to observe the devastation of the 1980 eruption, stargazing and waterfall exploring (yep it's all right here!) in the United States� majestic Northwest!!
Directions
The Amtrak station is just 4 blocks away.From Portland International Airport go east on Interstate 84 thru the spectacular Columbia River Gorge for 45 miles until reaching Hood River Oregon. Then cross the bridge over the mighty Columbia River to Washington. Turn right (east) on Scenic Lewis and Clark Highway 14 approximately 1.5 miles to Cedar Street in Bingen Washington where you turn left, go up hill just one block and you're at your Gorge Home!!
