Luxury accommodation at budget prices... Big communal areas and large kitchen with big help yourself breakfast. Garden with BBQ! All rooms have a fridge, TV, microwave & Wifi access - FREE rice and pasta every day.We have a fantastic kitchen with included breakfast and not just any old breakfast too! All you can eat six cereals, juice, raison toast, white toast, multigrain toast, espresso coffee, & tea... We have FAST internet computers and WiFi throughout the building. We've added a female dorm with a balcony that has all the things a lady needs in the room...Come and see why we are consistantly highly rated by our guests. Check-in is 2.00pm: Check-out is 10am - if you arrive early you can leave your baggage with us from 8am when reception opens. Built as a large guesthouse in the late 1800's, we have over fifty, mainly private rooms and offer nightly or weekly accommodation at great value. We have a fantastic location just on the southern side of the city, in the heart of South Yarra which is home to the beautiful Botanical Gardens and many trendy restaurants and bars. You can walk through the park and along the Yarra river to get into the city or you could just hop on the tram which takes about 5 minutes. There is shopping and dining to cater for all budgets along Toorak Rd and Chapel Street. The number 8 tram runs along our street so everything is only a short ride away - St Kilda's fashionable restaurants and beaches, the city, the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Albert Park - home of the Melbourne Grand Prix. All trams and trains are within walking distance.We have over fifty rooms which vary in size from small singles to large doubles, budget twins, family rooms, a few dorms (most of our dorm rooms have a balcony!) and are well equipped with a colour TV, fridge, microwave, kettle, heater, wardrobe and dressing table. None of our rooms have en-suite bathrooms but there are plenty of bathrooms located close by in each corridor. We have a fully equipped communal kitchen and provide a help yourself continental breakfast with help yourself tea, coffee, cereals, orange juice, preserves and bread - all included in the price. You are welcome to use our kitchen and cook for yourself just as long as you are willing to clean up! There's also a large dining room with three fast Internet computers and a large video selection in the cosy TV room, all open 24 hours.Why not escape the madness of the backpacker hostels as we offer a better class of well priced nightly accommodation to backpackers, 4 bed dorms or your own double/twin/triple room. How to get to St ArnaudLOCALLY:Take the No.8 Toorak tram towards Toorak from outside Flinders Street station or anywhere on Swanston St (city) - approx. 10 minutes and get off in Park Street, South Yarra, stop number 24, at the Botanical Gardens. (N.B. not Park Street, South Melbourne - so many people end up there !!!) You then cross the road towards the shops and walk along Park Street for one minute and you will see St Arnaud on your right at 99 Park Street, South Yarra.Alternatively, a taxi from the City should cost about $10 to our door.FROM THE AIRPORTS:Need to get to us from Tullamarine Airport? � The Jetbus now operates a direct service to our door between 6AM and midnight for $15 one way or $24 return. Family tickets start from $21 for 1 adult and up to four children. Go to https://secure.starnaudguesthouse.com/jetbusform.html to book your pick-up online. A taxi to St Arnaud from the airport should be no more than $60 AUD. On-street parking is free outside of these hours. A 10 minute walk away is Premier Parking that offers 24 hour secure undercover parking for $8.00.
