    "good quiet hostel, in good location, owner has ridiculously anal rules such as no dripping in the bathroom, charges for luggage storage, kitchen only open between 8am-10am which is annoying, also closes communal area at 10pm and checkout is at 10am even though only ferry off the island is not till 1pm and cant leave bags without being charged, very clean though." source Hostelworld

House-Zakaria is located in Hvar uptown, above main square. Here, we welcome single guests, groups and families. Our multilingual staff will guarantee easy communication and a hospitable ambiance. We are near to all downtown events, yet far enough to enjoy the tranquility of the cozy pedestrian area.Our traditional stone house is a part of the historical area. It is looking down to the harbor, and it offers a view to the sea and the neighboring islands. From here you can walk a short distance to all the shops and the many restaurants along the sea shore, and not much further to the first beach.

-IMPORTANT- PRINT THIS DIRECTIONS OR STORE IT IN YOUR CELLPHONE ! -Connection: from mainland to city of Hvar :A ) From Split the most convenient way is by catamarans: at 11:30, 15:00 and 17:00. (Split-Hvar is 1 hour trip).B ) From Split alternatively go ferry boats to Stari Grad. A public bus provides than a shuttling to the city of Hvar. C ) From Dubrovnik boat goes only twice a week , whereby, the bus connection via Split is very frequent - daily bus about every 2 hours Dubrovnik -Split.D ) Korcula - Hvar by catamaran, early morning.----------------------------------------------------The 2 ways to our house ( just a 5 min. walk) : 1)From the boat landing place in Hvar˙s harbor:Turn left as you get off the boat and walk along the harbor for about 90 meters passing the Pizzeria MAMA LEONA. After another 15 meters, facing the cafe SANTA BAR-BARA, turn right and follow the path alongside the SPLITSKA BANK till you reach a narrow street. Here on the left you find the restaurant JUNIOR, in front of which a pedestrian lane climbs up the hill. From here start counting... about 90 meters (passing at first the JAZZ Bar on your left and 2 short alleys on you right). After arriving at a 3rd alley (at small plateau), turn right and walk up the steps (about 30 meters) and follow this street as it turns left to another plateau. You will face a fork in the street: choose the steps to the left going up (30 meters). There you see a garden and the black metal gate on your right - which is the entrance to our place- Welcome !!!2)If you arrive to the town of Hvar by bus from Stari Grad: Head for the main square (about 50 meters from the bus station). There turn left, pass the tower and the church front to the other corner of the square. Turn left again and go into a narrow alley flanking the church. After 20 meters, take the first steps on your right up to the konoba LUVIJI. Continue walking up another 10 meters passed this restaurant, keeping it to the right. Soon you face a wall with a big tree showing above it, with a narrow set of steps on the right side .Take these steep steps and climb up around this tree. At the top of these steps, you find another narrow alley. Make a left here and in just 10 meters you see an alley on your right. This alley leads you up its steep step, showing our house on the top end of it. When you finally reach the plateau, you see on your right a black metal gate, the main entrance of our place-Welcome !!! ---------------------------------------PLEASE PRINT THE DIRECTION, YOU WILL DEFINITELY NEED IT !Keep in mind that our house is within the pedestrian area (walking up the hill) and - if you cross a car street - it means that you have missed our house.
