Welcome to Bedlam Mates Place Sydney! Stay with us and make yourself at home - right in the centre of the Kings Cross backpacker scene. Kings Cross is a lively nightclub area & red light district which is at the heart of Sydney's backpacker scene so there is always lots to do & lots of travellers to do it with! However as we are located only metres from famous bars please dont expect it to be too quiet! There are some beds available for xmas & new years!!! It is an 11 day minimum stay STARTING on 23 December ENDING 2 January.This is a perfectly sized, owner operated business which is big enough to meet lots of different types of people & not too big to be impersonal. Rich, the owner will do everything to assist to make your stay as comfortable as possible.Our renovated (in parts!) place is designed for you to have a great time. All rooms have air conditioning, free large towel supplied. Guests can have free Internet access and free WiFi Hotspot internet access with their own laptop PC�s. We offer free airport pick-up between 5.30am and 8.00pm if you stay for 4 nights (call the hostel (contact details given after booking) when you arrive at the airport). At the international airport the pick up point is called the meeting point,it is a big blue wall between arrival gates a/b and c/d opposite a flower shop. At the domestic airport look for the minibuses outside the terminals. Do not pay cash to any bus driver if you want the free transfer.There are Pub crawls with free beer or champagne almost every day- a great way to make new mates. Car parking is available from $15 per 24 hours or on the street for free. Reception hours are 8am � 2pm & 5pm til midnight 7 days. You are welcome to arrive at any time if you either wait in the tv room for reception hours or give us advance notice of when you intend to arrive.HOSTEL FEATURESYour dorm sleeps 4, 6 or 8 - all bed linen provided - so whether you are travelling solo or with your mates, there�s always someone to go out with or show you around. There is also the option to book a 4 bed dorm with a double bed for use as a private double. Every dorm has air-conditioning, luggage lock-up(free of charge just bring your own padlock), plus a fridge. Most have en suite bathrooms. Female only rooms with en suite bathrooms provide an extra bit of privacy. The large common room is well equipped for your comfort. Hang out in the lounge and chat with new friends or relax with a movie on our large screen cable/Plasma TV. Cook a meal in the fully equipped modern kitchen, and use our laundry room to wash, dry and iron your gear. Mates Place Sydney is a WiFi Hotspot with free internet access for our guests to connect with family and mates around the world. We take guest Security and safety seriously. Key access to the building, long reception hours plus an after hours attendant provides security guest access 24 hours a day. KINGS CROSS LOCATIONInner city Kings Cross is an ideal, base when visiting Sydney. An eclectic mix of grand sandstone buildings, terraces, cottages and modern apartments contain a colourful, eclectic community well known for its diversity. This is the most popular location where hostellers choose to stay because it is a lively, busy, central location with great transport and entertainment options. Numerous clubs, pubs and bars are literally right outside the door in this well known �Red Light District� and just a short walk away in Darlinghurst. Travellers who prefer a quieter location should consider accommodation in other areas of the city. Famous attractions are an easy walk away including the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, Sydney Tower, Darling Harbour, Sydney Aquarium, Botanic Gardens, Art Gallery of NSW, and the CBD. The train and bus stations are nearby for easy access to all parts of Sydney including Bondi Beach, the Blue Mountains or beyond. And the ferries will take you across the sparkling harbour to Taronga Zoo and Manly. We treat you like a mate at our place. Rich is soo nice, he upgraded us for no extra charge! Free internet, towels, cutlery, most rooms have fridges. The kitchen was clean, lockers in the room. AWESOME hostel, def. coming back if I�m in Sydney! A nice homey feel, the location is good, close to King's Cross station, but we just walked the whole time cause it's not too far and you get to see the city. Empire across the street was heaps of fun. DEFINITELY stay here!!' Jacqueline usa May 08'Really nice hostel located in the heart of Kings X. Probably the cleanest and nicest kitched I've ever seen in a hostel or otherwise. Only gripe is that you play roulette with the shower temperature sometimes. We are less than 3 minutes walk from kings cross train station.Exit Kings Cross Station on Darlinghurst Rd, cross the road, turn left, walk 100m, turn right into Roslyn St and our front door is 10 metres from the corner - opposite EMPIRE Hotel Bar. Trains from the airport terminals run from about 5.30am until approx 11.30 pm & cost around $13 to Kings Cross station.
