More information on Dalla Nonna Maria

Our B&B is located in San Secondo Parmense, 23 km from Parma airport and 25 from Parma city. What we offer you is not a simple B&B service, but a moment of relax to share with us in a simple family atmosphere in the house built by grandfathers in the 50's. Our breakfast is already well-known all around this area and among our guests: we serve fresh milk straight from the cow, home made cakes, home made butter and jam; then tea, coffee, biscuits, honey, bread, orange juice, tea, hot chocolate...There are several places of interest in our region and they are not extremly popular with tourists yet: this is why you still can find authentic people that will be able to bring you in deep contact with the territory.- The Castles of the Bassa Parmense: the Rocca dei Rossi, aristocratic family of San Secondo Parmense, the Rocca Sanvitale in Fontanellato, the Rocca in Soragna, still inhabited by Prince Diofebo Meli Lupi.- The 'Mondo Piccolo' (little world) of Giovannino Guareschi, author of the novels of 'Peppone and Don Camillo', born in our village (Fontanelle).- The 'Places of Verdi', in which the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi is located, the Villa Sant'Agata and Busseto village, where the master lived and worked.- The Po river, called 'Il Grande Fiume' the big river, peaceful and dangerous at the same time. Along its banks tourists can have relaxing cycle rides on the new-born cycleways.- The 'Strada del Culatello di Zibello' (Culatello di Zibello Road) gourmet circuit that tempts and spoils us, by offering us together with the Culatello of Zibello (P.D.O.), also Fortana of Taro wine (T.G.I.) the Spalla of San Secondo(P.D.O.), the Parmigiano reggiano (P.D.O.) the home-made Salame and other tipical local products. We do not accept credit cards yet.

Directions

From San Secondo take the direction CREMONA, drive 5 km exatly on a straight road and you will be at the beginning of a small bridge. On the left side you will see a big yellow house, which is a shop of forniture in bamboo called BERTOZZI. In front of this shop, always on your left, there is a small road: STRADA DELLA VALLE, at the beginning of which it's very clear our sign 'B&B DALLA NONNA MARIA'. Take this road, drive 250 m making a couple of curves and on the right side you will see a small wood made indication saying 'Nonna Maria'. You are arrived. The nearest bus stop is 250 meters far from our B&B, but don't worry, we can pick you up or take you to it!From the bus stop you'll see immediately our sign a little bit further. Please check with us what is the best way to get here when you come from far away.
