Directions

From Cairo International Airport (CAI): Distance to the Cataract Pyramids Resort is 20 kilometres, approximately 35 minutes' drive. Getting there. Taxis for central Cairo can be found in front of the Arrivals hall. The fare should be negotiated prior to departure, and should cost around 70 EGP 80 EGP. Buses run between the airport and central Cairo, and airport bus services run from Terminal 1 (Old Airport). The number 400 bus leaves about every 30 minutes throughout the day, and hourly at night. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. Cataract Pyramids Resort is in Giza, in the west of Cairo. The cheap and reliable metro system is the best way to explore Cairo. Minibuses and buses are a common form of transport, however, taxis are a good alternative. A river bus travels down the Nile from Cairo. Boats leave regularly for the University. Every other boat continues on to Rhoda, Manial, Masr al Qadima (old Cairo), and Giza. Driving is not advised for visitors, due to congestion in the city.
