Come and try the new improved Maison du Patriote, renovations are now done. Several changes have been made to the dorm (it's more private now) and bathrooms. We are sorry for the inconvinience that the old situation have cause you and we do promise you a better stay than it was in the past.We Are In Old Montreal In A 200 Year Old Historic Building. Enjoy A Cozy And Warm Ambiance, It Feels Like A Big Appartment. Breakfast In The Morning And Coffee Anytime! Welcome!Wood Beams, 2 Foot Thick Stone Walls, Old Style Windows, High Ceilings, Etc. We Have Two Shared Bathrooms. The Kitchen Is Perfect For Kitchen Conversations!Computers And Free Wireless High Speed Internet Connection, Youhou! Local Phone Calls Are Free.We are within walking distance from the old port park, the city center, museums, restaurants,a vast array of art galleries, the Science Museum, etc. This winter, enjoy an amazing skating rink (yes, you can rent skates and the music is good!) and the montreal light festival.During the week, it is calm and quiet for the most part but on the weekends, some rooms on the street side can be noisy. Please note that no rooms have single beds, so if you reserve two beds in a private room, you will get a double bed! If you reserve a four bed private room, you will get two queen beds. Some rooms have larger floor space than others, as indicated by the differences in prices that you will notice while booking on-line.Call us after booking if you want to make special arrangements such as adding an air mattress. The dorm is an open space room with a cathedral ceiling. It is mixed, male and female, each person has an air matress on the floor and a small wooden table, and their 'area' is sectioned by cloth divisions for added privacy. If you do not arrive during business hours, we will program the door keypad with the last four digits of your reservation number followed by a star (*). So, for example, if your reservation number is 5271-1234567, your code will be 4567* and you can come in! Your room or your dorm bed will have your name on it. Please remember that personal linens, sleeping bags, blankets and pillows are not allowed. We are located in the Old Port, near the water, south of the skyscrapers. Our address is 169, St-Paul East. We are on the corner of Place Jacques-Cartier and St-Paul street. St-Paul is a one way street, going east-west, parallel to De la Commune street wich follows the old port parc and the seaway. The city is divided in two (east and west) from St-Laurent street. Conduct a search on Mapquest with the postal code H2Y 1G8.From the airport, the taxi is a flat rate of 35$, the aerobus is 13.50 a person and the city bus is 2.75 a person but it takes forever!From the train station (Bonaventure) it's a 20 minute walk. Go east on any street and then south when you hit St-Urbain. Then east again on St-Paul Street. The city is divided in two (east and west) from St-Laurent Street. That is why you will see the numbers decrease and then increase again. From the bus station, you can either walk 15 min or take the metro to Champ-de-Mars station. Just walk south until you hit St-Paul Street. Enjoy the city hall and its big fountain!If you are coming by car, take the 720 that goes under the downtown buildings, then take the exit number 6: Vieux-Montreal (the brown sign). Keep to your right when the road splits. Turn right on the first light and right again when you hit St-Paul.Don't worry, we do not have a sign on our door!!VERY IMPORTANT TOO : FROM NOW , DON`T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT IF YOU COME FROM THE US !!Please note that starting on june 1st 2007 ALL APPLICABLE TAXES will be charged on top of the room price at check-in.Cancellation policy: at least a day in advance, before 1PM. 10% non refundable charge on any reservation.See you then!
