Directions

The Urban Age Hostel offers privacy and warm hospitality, and is located on Silom Soi 8 which is surrounded by restaurants, shops, international banks, public transportation and nightlife. Soi means small street in Thai, and we are just opposite the headquarters of Bangkok Bank and next to Bangkok Christian Hospital. There is a 24-hour 7-11 (in front of soi 8). Our hostel is less than a minute walk from 7-11. In case your computer can read Thai, please print this out so that you can show it to taxi driver. From the airport: From Suvarnabhumi airport. There are three options. 1. The easiest and quickest way to get to Silom Soi 8 is by taking a taxi. Taxis are available on the second floor of the terminal as you exit the airport. Please ask the driver to turn ON the meter. The cost should be around THB 250-300, and there is an express way fee of approximately THB 70 and a taxi registration fee of THB 50. If you are late arriving, the taxi driver may refuse to turn on the meter and ask for THB 400-500. An airport limousine is likely to cost around THB 800-900. We are just to the right of them. 2. Take the Airport Express Bus no. AE1. You have to go down to first floor and look for the Airport Express Bus Counter outside of Gate 8. The rate is THB 150 per person, so if two people are travelling together, taking a taxi is more or less the same price. The bus will go to Silom Road, please get off at Silom Soi 6 (in front of Bangkok Christian Hospital). Then walk back approximately 100 meters to Silom Soi 8. When you arrive at Silom Soi 8, walk into the Soi (small alley) for 20 meters or 10 seconds, and you will see a Mexican restaurant called El'Gordo and we are next to them on the right. 3. The cheapest way is to take public bus number 551 (not the airport bus) with local Thai people. The bus departs from the Airport Bus terminal. You must take the free shuttle bus from the airport to the bus terminal. The cost of the bus is THB 35. As it is public transportation, it only provides a limited area for luggage. This bus will take you to Victory Monument, where you should get off there. Then take the Skytrain to Saladaeng station, which will cost around THB 35. Once you get off the Skytrain, walk to Silom Soi 8. The bus operates from 0600-2000. When you arrive Silom Soi 8, walk into the Soi (small alley) for 20 meters or 5 seconds, you will see a Mexican restaurant called El'Gordo and we are next to them on the right. This will take around 10-15 minutes. When you arrive at Silom Soi 8, walk into the Soi (small alley) for 20 meters or 10 seconds, you will see a Mexican restaurant called El'Gordo and we are next to them on the right.
