Location. The Alexander House Hotel and Utopia Spa is located in the village of Turners Hill, England, four miles from East Grinstead and Wakehurst Gardens. Gatwick airport is nine miles away. Hotel Features. This spa hotel is set in a 17th century stone mansion in a 170 acre garden. Famous past residents include the Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. The marble floored lobby, with cream Romanesque pillars and antique furnishings, is home to a 24 hour front desk and concierge desk operated by multilingual staff. The Utopia Spa, entered through a Gothic corridor of marble and granite, houses three pools, steam rooms, saunas, and rainfall showers set among stone columns and domed ceilings. The spa also offers a range of treatments including Caci Quantum facials, seaweed body wraps, and hot stone massages. The hotel provides 24 hour room service. Complimentary parking is available. Alexander House Hotel hosts two onsite restaurants. Alexander Restaurant serves modern European dishes and a selection of rare wines and vintage ports. Light meals and salads dominate the menu in Reflections Brasserie, which has a champagne bar and overlooks 'Flames Courtyard' containing a log fire pit. Breakfast is available for a surcharge. The hotel's business centre comprises of two conference suites and four meeting rooms. Fitness equipment and aerobics classes are available onsite. The hotel also organises horse riding activities. Guestrooms. The 38 individually decorated guestrooms have bold Art Deco style wallpaper prints, warm toned fabrics, and dark wood furnishings. Beds are fitted with Egyptian cotton sheets. Rooms are equipped with satellite television, DVD players, wireless Internet access, direct dial phones, coffee and tea facilities, safes, and bathrooms with hair dryers, bathrobes, and slippers. A daily complimentary newspaper is provided.

Direct taxis to Alexander House Hotel and Utopia Spa cost approximately 17 GPB. Alternatively, regional trains run from Gatwick Airport to East Grinstead. From here guests can take a taxi to the hotel. Getting around. A car is recommended for exploring the surrounding countryside. Driving directions. From Gatwick Airport: Turn left at the roundabout at join the M23 at Junction 9. Exit at Junction 10 and join the A264 towards Crawley. In Crawley, take the third exit at the Dukes Head roundabout onto Turners Hi ll Road (B2028). Follow the B2028 road for 2.5 miles. Turn left onto East Street (B2110). Follow the B2110 for one mile.
