YHA Ostello San Filippo Neri

Ostello 'San Filippo Neri' is part of the Hostelling International association of Hostels in Italy, located in the magnificent historic centre of Modena. Within a few minutes'walk, it is possible to reach Piazza Grande where are located the Ghirlandina tower and the cathedral that together with the square, are considered a human patrimony form the UNESCO. But Modena is not only culture, it is also gastronomy with the famous balsamic vinegar, and engines' land. Enzo Ferrari was born here, and Maranello is located only a few miles away. Modena hosts very interesting events such as the International Festival of Military Bands (in July), the Philosophy Festival (in September) and Skipass - Winter Tourism Fair (in November). From Modena you can go to visit beautiful art cities as Bologna (40 km), Parma (55 km) or Reggio Emilia (25 km).International Bologna airport 40 km - Ryanair flights from/to main cities such as Barcellona, Bruxelles, Dublin, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Oslo, Paris and Valencia.Please note, if you are not a Member of Hostelling International there is an extra charge of � 3 per person per night. Once you have stayed 6 nights at a HI Hostel you become a HI member, and no extra charges apply for future stays. For Italian people they must buy a membership individual card (� 6) valid one year from the day they buy it. For young people with less than 18 years requires the written permission of parents.In our hostel you can obtain accomodation in twin or three-bedded rooms, with separate bathrooms on the floors, for men and women. Twin, three and four-bedded family rooms have separate reserved bathrooms. We provide also a wardrobe with a key for each bed. There are also two rooms and bathroom for disabled people.The hostel rooms are closed each day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while the common areas are at the guests' disposal all day. We do not have breakfast service, however in our hostel you can find vending machines for cold and hot drinks.We provide bed-sheets and blankets. Our guests can have a discount on the ticket for visiting the Ferrari Gallery. We have safe-deposit boxes for small objects, a free luggage room for the departure and the arrival of guests. Internet point and laundry service are only a short distance away from the hostel.

Directions

The hostel is situated within a walking distance both from the railway and the coach station- about 300 yards.The train station on your back:go straight till you arrive on a large avenue(Monte Kosica) and cross the street at the cross light. Once you have crossed, go right and straight then turn left at the first one (Via Ganaceto) and again left at the first one(Via S.Orsola) and there you are.
