"I would highly recommend this hotel." — source Hotels.com
"A few other small issues included leaks from the ac units on the 4th floor producing a musty smell, noisy hallways, extended waits for valet, and overall room quality and condition that puts this hotel, aside from its gorgeous design, clearly in a two and a half star category." — source Expedia
"We thought the hotel was nice overall but unfortunately, we discovered on the first night, around 9:00 PM, that the music to the adjoining bar cranks up so loud as to vibrate the entire hotel." — source Expedia

More information on Loft 523
We bet you've never seen anything like this, not even in New York, from which these spacious loft-style units drew their inspiration. Due to have reopened at the end of 2006, Loft 523, in an old carriage and dry-goods warehouse in the Central Business District, should look the same as it did before post-Katrina renovations, which means it will continue to wow with edge and elegance. Each of the 18 lofts is a marvel of modern design, sort of a Jetsons-futuristic-meets-NYC-minimalist-fantasy. They are sleek and handsome, but those wanting plushy and overstuffed will be miserable as soon as they see the concrete floors. Beds are platforms, surprisingly comfortable with Frette linens (but just a chenille throw blanket over that; ask for the down comforters if the night brings a chill). A Sony CD/DVD Surround Sound system adds sonic warmth, and the bathrooms are so big you could fit the entire ReBirth Brass Band inside. (Check out that Agape "spoon" tub.) But here's where Cummings and company break from N.Y./L.A. detached cool: Throughout are reminders of the building's provenance -- old wood planks form the floor downstairs, turn-of-the-20th-century tin ceiling tiles outfit the elevators, and columns from the old warehouse decorate the lounge. Note that room service is spotty -- all the food comes from the International House's restaurant, down the street. Facilities: Lounge; health club Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
