From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS): Distance to the Hotel de l'Europe is 20 kilometres, approximately 25 minutes' drive. Getting there. A railway station is located under Schiphol Plaza, in the central hall of the terminal. Every 15 minutes a direct train runs to Amsterdam Central Station. Shared Schiphol Travel taxis can be found outside the arrivals hall. The cars can seat up to eight people and cost approximately 19 EUR per person. Private taxis to the hotel city centre cost approximately 45 EUR. Public buses frequently run to Amsterdam and other destinations. Buses 197 and 370 go to central Amsterdam and Amsterdam Zuid. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. Amsterdam can easily be explored on foot. There are also convenient bus, tram and metro services running through the city and outside areas. Cycling is also a popular way to see Amsterdam. There are taxi ranks at the central station. Driving within the canal ring is discouraged. Driving directions. Coming from the airport, take highway A4 in the direction of Amsterdam. On reaching the A10 ring road to Amsterdam, follow directions to Oost, Zuid of Noord, and take the exit for S112 (Duivendrecht). Turn left at the traffic lights and follow directions for Centrum. After one kilometre, turn right at the roundabout for Centrum and into the Weesperstraat. Follow this broad street for about three kilometres until reaching a second roundabout. Follow the roundabout and turn right after the white twin tower church. Continue alongside the Waterlooplein/City Hall/Opera building. Turn right after the bridge and follow the River Amstel.
