More information on Dukes Hotel

Dukes provides elegance without ostentation in what was presumably someone's "Upstairs, Downstairs" town house. Along with its nearest competitors, The Stafford and 22 Jermyn Street, it caters to those looking for charm, style, and tradition in a hotel. It stands in a quiet courtyard off St. James's Street; turn-of-the-20th-century gas lamps help put you into the proper mood before entering the front door. Each well-furnished guest room is decorated in the style of a particular English period, ranging from Regency to Edwardian. All rooms are equipped with marble bathrooms containing tub/shower combinations. It's a lot cozier, more intimate, and even more clubbish than The Stafford, and Dukes is more tranquil since it's set in its own gaslit alley. Facilities: Restaurant; bar; health club; spa; tour desk; business services; room service; babysitting; laundry service; same-day dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; rooms for those w/limited mobility Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
