More information on Hilton Newcastle Gateshead

Opened in 2004, the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead is a contemporary six storey hotel located on the banks of the Tyne, 600 metres from the Baltic Flour Mills arts centre, with views of Newcastle, the river and the quayside. The hotel's 254 guestrooms feature light, modern decor and include satellite television with pay movies and video games, high speed Internet connections, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities, desks and trouser presses. Bathrooms include phones, hair dryers and complimentary toiletries. Cable/satellite television installed in 2006. Coffee and pastries are served in Caff Cino, and the hotel's restaurant and bar offers classic and contemporary international dishes and panoramic views over the River Tyne. Guests can work out in the fully equipped gym and swim in the 15 metre indoor heated swimming pool. Less energetic guests can relax in the whirlpool spa, sauna and steam room before pampering themselves with a visit to the beauty salon. Staff at the concierge desk will help visitors make the most of the surrounding area and there is an on site foreign currency exchange. Guests with business needs can make use of an executive lounge and a business centre offering ten meeting rooms, secretarial services and video conferencing facilities. Guests arriving by car will find parking facilities available on site (surcharge). Numerous riverside bars and points of cultural interest are within walking distance of the hotel, including the Baltic Flour Mills contemporary visual arts centre, 600 metres away, and the Laing Gallery, one kilometre away. Anthony Gormley's 20 metre Angel of the North landmark can be seen seven miles from the hotel, and the Northumberland Costal Route is 15 miles away. Newcastle International Airport is 15 miles away, with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.

Directions

The Metro runs from the Airport Metro Station, next door to arrivals, to Newcastle city centre and mainline railway station. Taxis and hire cars are available from the airport. The Metro system and buses are the best way of getting round Newcastle city centre. Driving directions: From the airport, take the A696 towards Newcastle, join the A167(M) for Gateshead and cross the Tyne Bridge. Turn left at the first set of traffic lights, left at the second set of lights, and left again at the third set. The hotel is on the right.
