The Grand Daddy, formerly known as the Metropole Hotel, is a member of Design Hotels.New meets old in Cape Town?s hottest luxury boutique hotel. Situated in the heart of the city, on legendary Long Street, it is a HIP hotel with modern sex appeal.A member of Design Hotels? this beautifully refurbished spot has retained the authenticity of the gracious Georgian building, jarring it with modern luxury, leaving it warm, stylish and fun! The luxurious 25 bedrooms, which occupy the two floors above the caf?, restaurant and bar area epitomize comfort and elegance. Special features in the guest rooms include soft white French linen, travertine marble bathrooms and European-style singular comfy-beds. Technological features include special universal electricity outlets, internet modem portholes for laptops, wi-fi hotspots throughout the hotel, satellite enabled television, and individual remote-controlled power air-conditioning. The rooms are large and the corridors are wide, which are unchanged from the original hotel floor plans.The Veranda restaurant has uninterrupted views of Long Street. It is up to a 90-seater, with an interior that utilizes clean lines, juxtaposed with contrasting colors. The restaurant attracts a wide audience through its hearty, unpretentious menu.
