In the heart of Trieste, a splendid city full of history, stands the Starhotel Savoia Excelsior, opposite the Palazzo dei Congressi and the Marittima Station, just a short walk from the historic centre. The hotel, both in its construction and its interiors, recalls the Central European splendors, so dear to the members of the Habsburg Dynasty who made Trieste their home. A spacious lobby, rich with stucco, columns, mirrors and marble greets its visitors. The 155 air conditioned rooms, among which some are classified as an Executive Room and some as residence-type suites, are all elegantly appointed, soundproofed and furnished with minibar, colour satellite TV with high speed internet conmnection, movies on command, direct dial telephone and radio. The 'Savoy Inn' restaurant which can accomdate up to 250 people offers an excellent International cuisine together with typical local dishes.
