From Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD): Distance to Hotel Carlton is 17 kilometres, approximately 40 minutes' drive. Getting there. The easiest way to reach the hotel from the airport is by hire car or taxi, costing approximately 30 EUR. Getting around. The squares and narrow streets in central Madrid are best explored by foot. An extensive public bus and metro system offers a cheap and efficient way to get around the city. Single tickets can be bought from bus drivers or machines. A 10 trip Metrobus ticket, costing 6.40 EUR, is ideal for those making multiple journeys. Taxis can be hailed on the street and are reasonably priced. Driving directions. From Madrid Barajas Airport: Take the M 30 towards Madrid. Take the A3 and A4, coming off at exit 11 for Mendez Alvaro Street. Turn left onto Murcia Street and the hotel is on the corner with Paseo de las Delicias.
