Check our whiteboard to find out details of what it will be that night. WEDNESDAY - Fish & Chips and Games Night! Order and pay for your fish & chips from the staff at reception by 5.30pm and we'll all have a night of traditional English favourite and games - whether they be a multiplayer on one of our game systems, boardgames, pool games or card games. Last Orders taken at 5.30pm on the night, starts about 7pm. THURSDAY - Tournament Night! Show off your skills at Wii Sports on the big screen or pool on our table both in our awesome common room. FRIDAY - It's Party Night! Join Disco Dev and the other staff members for a night of cheesy music, coloured lights and lots of laughs. SATURDAY - Free Morning Walking Tour! Join one of our staff members and other guests on a morning stroll through different parts of the city each week. Starts at 9am, but make sure you register your interest the night before when you arrive! Live Sports! If there is a game on, you can be sure we'll have it up on our big screen on Saturday afternoons! And when it comes complete with drink specials during the game, there's no need to go out into the cold looking for a sports bar.Still not enough? You�re a tough customer! Luckily, we�re up to the challenge. Our common area is by far the coolest and funkiest around. Based in what used to be a pub, it has often been described as a 'technicolour explosion' you'll just have to see to believe. All we know is that our common room is simply awesome. The laidback atmosphere makes it easy to meet other travellers. Your only trouble will be convincing yourself to get out there and see the sights when there's so much to do here!It's comfy, it's cosy. It's a great place to socialise with new friends and drink a cold beer from our bar (which sells quite the variety of international beer favourites and a collection of cocktail concoctions) while warming up in front of our fireplace. In the summer, one of the best places to be is our garden. There are loads of plants, and it's a great place for a chat or a BBQ, or even to test your skills on our basketball game. At night it's lit up by all sorts of different lights, making the atmosphere really cool.Need a snack or forget something? It's no problem. We sell travel essentials and a selection of crisps as well as other snacks to feed you - that is if you are still hungry after pigging out at our free nightly snack buffet!So what kind of rooms do we have to offer? At Birmingham Central, we have it all. We have private singles, twin and triple rooms which are with tea and coffee making facilities, TVs and DVD players as well as books and a selection from our movie library. We also have dorm rooms that hold between four and eight people. Most dorm rooms have lockers, a sink and shower but toilet facilities are shared. New last May: Our eight bed POD dorm! It adds a new level of privacy to backpacking. Based on the Japanese capsule design, each POD has a 360 degree private reading light, locker, extra comfy mattress, and curtain so you can have the utmost privacy if that�s what you are looking for. But book early if you want to secure one of these beds - they sell like hotcakes.At BCB, we have something for everyone.Do you want to stay somewhere that really is centrally located in the city because you don�t want to pay for transport? That�s smart thinking. Who wants to lug their belongings far distances across town when you first arrive? No one, of course. Not to mention the cost of taking taxis and buses (that can really add up). Our address is 58 Coventry Street, Digbeth, Birmingham B5 5NH. We are on the corner of Coventry Street and Milk Street just off the Digbeth High Street, just a five minute walk from the Bull Ring Shopping Centre.From Digbeth Coach Station. Walk out of the coach station and turn left and walk towards the Old Wharf pub (located on the corner of Coventry and Oxford Street)Take a right at the pub on to Coventry Street and walk down to where Coventry Street ends. We are on the left hand side, at the corner of Coventry and Milk Street.From New Street Station: Walk out of the train station on the ground floor. Cross over the street toward the Boots pharmacy. Turn left and walk through the tunnel. When you get out the other side you will see Moor Street Station across the street and a huge building with silver reflectors on it on your right side. This is the Selfridges building. Follow the Selfridges building around keeping it on your right side. When you get around the corner you will see a large church and a traffic light. Turn left at the street, this is the Digbeth High Street. Walk down 4 streets and turn left at Milk Street. We are one street down on the left at the corner of Coventry and Milk Street.From Moor Street Train Station: Walk out of Moor Street Train station to the left. Go straight towards the Moor Street Car Park. Go right at the car park along the street towards the big church with the silver disked building on your right hand side. Take a left at the Digbeth High Street and walk down four streets. Take a right at the street just past the Subway sandwich shop and where the white and black sign points to Birmingham Central Backpackers at Milk Street (the Big Bulls Head Pub and South Birmingham College will be on the corner.) Walk down one street to Coventry Street where you will find a purple and blue building. This is Birmingham Central Backpackers!From the airport you can take a train that is about 15 minutes to New Street station. Then just follow the directions above. You also can take the 900 bus from the airport to Digbeth Coach Station (National Express) in the city centre. Get off at the Digbeth Coach Station stop. Cross over the main street towards the Subway restaurant. Take a left at Milk Street, this is the street between The Big Bulls Head pub and the South Birmingham College. We are located one street down on the left side.From the Mega Bus Stop: Go down the street away from the Bannatynes towards the tall white apartment complex called the Masshouse. At the traffic light turn right. This is Moor Street Queensway. Walk to the building with the silver disks on the outside and Moor Street train station and turn left at it. Then cross over the road and go right onto the street called Moor Street Queensway and walk towards the big church. At the Digbeth High Street take a left. Walk 4 streets down to Milk Street ( Big Bulls Head Pub and South Birmingham College will be at the Intersection.) Take a left onto Milk Street and walk one street down to Coventry Street. We are the blue and purple building on Coventry Street and Milk Street!NEC: The NEC is accessible to us from bus, coach, or train. Both the coach station and the bus for the NEC are a minutes' walk from the hostel. You can't beat it for convenience! Otherwise you can walk to New Street Station in 7 minutes and take the train.
