Is located in the heart of the city centre, just a few minutes walk from the railway and bus station. Breakfast includes cerals,toast, tea or coffee,with as much tea/coffee free all day long. Macgabhainns is a small hostel with a cool barbeque area in the garden.We are also located near pubs with traditional Irish music and some fine restaurants that are quite inexpensive. We are just a short stroll from Kilkenny Castle. Our reception is open until 10pm for check-ins. Macgabhainns Backpackers Hostel offers a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for weary travelers. With beds in a four bedded room from 15 euros Macgabhainns is the place to stay whilst in kilkenny. Directions

If you get off at railway/bus station, you will see kilkenny house straight on front off you, take the street to the right of this building(Johns Green/wolftone street). Follow this street until you reach the crossroads at Greens bridge, turn left and at the roundabout turn left again. You will see the backpackers hostel from there. If you get off at Patrick st. bus stop turn left up high st. onto parliment st. second traffic light turn right, We are next to gas station. PLEASE PRINT THIS PAGE FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.
