San Ignacio Resort Hotel is located in San Ignacio town, the heart of the Cayo District, approximately 75 miles west of Belize City. Perched above Macal River Valley, the resort boasts views of rainforest and wildlife from each of its 24 rooms. Hotel amenities include the Green Iguana Conservation Project, swimming pool (with views of the jungle), patio lounge, basketball court, gift shop, Running W Steak House and Restaurant, and nature trails through the hotel's private, 14-acre jungle preserve and riverside beach. The trails offer easy access to more than 100 species of plants and trees and 70 species of birds. The tour desk can arrange visits to such major Mayan archeological sites as Cahal Pech, Xunantunich, El Pilar, Caracol, or to sites in neighboring Guatemala. Other activities include canoeing, caving, bird watching, horseback riding, and visits to San Ignacio's Farmer's Market. All rooms feature air-conditioning, private tiled baths, cable TV, telephones, and Internet access.
