Very pleasant spot, away from the centre but worth it for the Tropical surroundings.VU1102. Low rise motel style building, amongst lush Tropical gardens. On the seafront, overlooking Magnetic Island, surrounded by 3 acres of Tropical gardens, 2.5km from the airport and city centre, 10 minute walk to the Strand. Townsville is a good base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef, with Reef HQ (a mini reef environment providing a good starting point).
