"Venice of the North" - welcome to Hamburg. Although Hamburg is Germany's most northern metropolis, it is very often compared to a famous city in Italy's north. Its Venetian counterpart, however, cannot lay claim to the unique atmosphere of cosmopolitan flair, gripping Hanseatic history and local charm. Second to none as a starting point for exploring this beautiful city is the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg: on the shores of the lake Alster, in the centre of town, it is itself a magnificent example of the city's Hanseatic culture and lifestyle. Where the world comes together ? Since it opened its doors almost a century ago in 1909, discerning travellers have appreciated the great Hanseatic tradition of the Hotel Atlantic. This grand hotel on the banks of the Alster has been a beloved rendezvous amongst cosmopolitan guests ever since: The world is at home in the Atlantic. Discreet perfection ? Ultimate comfort, perfect service and uncompromising culinary excellence: tradition demand

Dining

Atlantic RestaurantA breath of fresh air on the shores of Hamburg's lake Alster. At the elegant Atlantic Restaurant, not only the view of Hamburg's lake Alster is first class, but also the service of the courteous yet unobtrusive M?itre Wilfried Kopf and his team. The new Executive Chef Oliver Pfahler is well known in the German top gastronomy. He has been working with some of Germany's most reputed addresses and has become renowned for his variation of modern French cuisine, focusing on fresh and seasonal ingredients.Oliver Pfahler combines successful the modern and the classical to create a fusion of tastes. His genuine creations have gone down well with regular guests. Word has spread, and many new patrons are flocking to the Atlantic Restaurant.Atlantic BarThe Atlantic Bar is known as a true VIP hotspot in Hamburg. Several times it happened to be that famous music stars - usually after their shows - enjoyed the end of the day with a drink at the Atlantic Bar and gave "Concerts for free" to the other guests. Some years ago it occurred that Phil Collins played the grand piano and even responded to the guests' music wishes. The Atlantic Bar features Art-d?co and architectural fragments of the turn of the century. Barkeeper Enrico Wilhelm does not only know the recipes of some 200 cocktails by heart, but is also an expert, when it comes to classic cocktails.Tsao YangThe Chinese restaurant ?Tsao Yang" (Chinese for Rising Sun) is unique in Germany regarding ambience and cuisine. Opened in June 2003, it offers genuine Chinese cuisine in stylish ambiance and is regarded as one of Hamburg's top addresses when it comes to Asian restaurants.Tsao Yang seats 75 guests and up to 25 guests in private dining rooms. The Feng Shui based interior design creates an atmosphere of harmony and well-being. A blend of light colours and red elements stamp the ambience as much as the unique view of lake Alster and the open kitchen.Amongst the specialities of Chef Zou Zong Vong and his team are the original Peking Style Roast Duck as well as the finest dishes from Canton, Szechuan and Peking. Besides the ? la carte menu, "Tsao Yang" provides a light lunch dish. The wine list emphasises wines of Germany, France, Spain and Italy. "Tsao Yang" offers complimentary Valet Parking service.
