"Our room was great as was the bathroom, spotlessly clean, spacious and tastefully decorated." source Venere

  • Service: Rating of 4.4 out of 5

"The staff on the reception desk were most helpful explaining (in good English) how to use the carpark and how to get a bus to the centre (a short ride with a very frequent service." source Expedia

  • Location: Rating of 3.8 out of 5

"The Silken Amara was a pleasent hotel located in a nice residential area. There was a lack of eating establishments in the surrounding area except for bars." source Hotels.com

"Only 3 minor facts (if the rest is good): - the location is 15 minutes walk from the historical centre of San Sebastian and if you like to walk through rather pretty streets it's okay, if not - the taxi to the centre costs only 3,5-4 euros and can cover this problem; - hotel doesn't have its own parking (that is typical for the most hotels in popular cities in Spain) and it'll cost you 11 euros per day (even if you'll take the car to go to another destination); - I can't recall was the breakfast (let me repeat - the good one) included in the price of the room, but we were regular charged with 11 euros per person and our kid (7 years old), too." source Venere

"Walking distance to old San Sebastian and next to bus drop-off from Bilbao." source Expedia

  • Value

"You can take a bus - there are several different numbered buses to choose from - they cost €1." source Venere

Its bold architecture, the work of Pe?a Ganchegui, and its advanced technology contrast with the neo-classicism of its interior. A style absolutely in keeping with the legendary elegance and charm of its host city, San Sebastian. The hotels location in Plaza de P?o XII makes it convenient for all main thoroughfares in the city. Guests can also walk to the historic centre, the Kursaal Conference Centre, the new beach at La Zurriola, the La Concha centre, the sports city at Anoeta and any of the main shopping centres. Before taking your seat in the Plaza Restaurant, we recommend you to visit our cafe and enjoy one of the most Donostiarro (San Sebastian) traditions: an aperitif in the form of pintxos, these creative and tasty kebab-shaped mini-meals.In the restaurant itself, you can be sure of a succulent lunch or dinner, based on dishes inspired by Basque or international cuisine. Luis Miguel Petrirena, our chef, has created an imaginative and carefully-crafted menu that will more than meet even the expectations of those of our guests who have come to San Sebastian attracted by the fame of its cuisine.
