This country hostel is in a wonderful area in the heart of Connemara! Ideal for hill walking and cycling. Nearby are the villages Clifden (13km)and Recess (8km/ shop, pub and petrol station only). But also the pretty village of Roundstone (14km)situated on the Atlantic ocean. Please note this hostel is NOT in Galway City!Inisboffin, the island of legend and folklore, can be visited from nearby Cleggan.Also a good base to visit the Aran Islands (45 min. from Rossaveal where the ferry operates)The Hostel is closed during the day (10.00am-17.00pm) Check in time is from 17:00 until 22.00 and check out time is 10.00am.You'll find a big self catering kitchen, a spacious dining room and a homely common room with turf fire and beautiful views. Departs from Galway & Clifden several times a day.Bus �ireann: Galway - Clifden service, which passes by the Youth Hostel, alight at the gate. (Express bus nr. 61)Beware not all buses pass the hostel, you might have to get off at Canal Bridge (ask driver) and walk for 30 minutes in the direction of Clifden. Please make sure to check with the driver in advance.By Car or Bike, follow the signs for Clifden (N59). Pass through Recess and the Youth Hostel is on the right hand side approximately 8km further on. (1 hour drive from Galway by car)
