Location.The Holt Hotel is a traditional coaching inn dating back to 1475. It is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds and is said to be haunted by a highwayman who used to frequent the establishment. London Heathrow Airport is around 50 miles away, and takes around one hour to reach by car. Hotel Features.Guests are welcomed at this haunted hotel in the relaxed lobby with its 24 hour front desk and fireplace. The Holt Hotel also offers a lounge bar, a pool table, and a 24 hour room service facility. Complimentary parking is available for those arriving by car, and wireless Internet access is offered throughout the hotel for those with laptops.The hotel has a choice of dining options: Du Vall's Restaurant serves � la carte and table d'hote menus, and Highwayman's Bar & Lounge offers bar meals, cask ales and fine wines served beside the fireplace. Guestrooms. The 86 guestrooms, located on two floors, are individually designed with classic and modern furnishings. Amenities include cable television, telephones, wireless Internet access, trouser presses and hair dryers.Expert Tip. Blenheim Palace is seven miles from the hotel and its grounds are open to the public. Attractions include a maze, an adventure playground, a mini train, gift shops, a butterfly house and fishing. Concerts and festivals are also staged in the palace and park.

Directions

Getting there. Trains connect the airport to Oxford and Banbury railway stations, which are served by 24 hour taxis. Fares from the airport to the hotel cost around 60 GBP. The best way to explore the surrounding countryside is by hire car. Driving directions.From the airport follow the M25 motorway and join the M40 north. Exit at junction 9 and follow the A34 towards Oxford. After around one mile take the first exit for 'Middleton Stoney'. At the mini roundabout, turn right onto the B430 towards Middleton Stoney. Continue until a set of traffic lights and turn left onto the B4030 towards Enstone and Heyford. Once at Lower Heyford turn left at the T junction. Stay on the B4030 until the brow of the hill, and the hotel is at the top on the right.
