More information on Hostelling International - Point Loma

The Point Loma Hostel is located two miles from San Diego's famous Ocean Beach in the relaxed neighborhood of Point Loma. Ocean Beach and its accompanying nightlife, cafes, restaurants, shops and weekly Farmer's Market are just a short stroll away. Nearby, Sea World and Mission Bay are just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute bus ride away. Balboa Park, with its museums and the world famous San Diego Zoo, and Downtown San Diego are 10 or 30 minutes away by car and bus respectively.The hostel features a laid-back atmosphere with a beautiful, sunny courtyard complete with table tennis, a fire pit, gas BBQ, and plenty of spots to relax. There is also a large, open newly renovated kitchen that's perfect for cooking and sharing your favorite meals and a comfy, spacious lounge with a big screen TV and DVD player. Affordable internet access is available as well as FREE WIFI. Weekly dinners, barbecues, and movie nights are conducted by helpful hostel staff. A variety of dorms, private and family rooms are available. � Reception is closed from 10:00PM - 8:00AM.� No check in for new arrivals between these hours.� Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization. � Non-members will be asked to pay a $3 daily membership fee per night upon check-in. � Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.� Max number of days is 14 days within 365 days.� Please be aware that we are only for travelers so we do not allow San Diego County residents to check into our hostel. � If you are a resident of San Diego County and you make a reservation on this site you will not be checked in or refunded.

Directions

Driving: (we have free public street parking)From the airport terminal, take a right on North Harbor Dr, another right on Nimitz Blvd, and yet another right on Chatsworth, then left at Poinsettia and left again at Udall. We are a block ahead on the right. Beware! San Diego cab drivers seem to have little knowledge of the area, so give them directions. Taxies should only be about $13 from the airport (including tip).From the East: Take I-8 all the way west. When it ends, it will dump you onto a street called Sunset Cliffs. Follow that to Voltaire, turn left. Continue up the hill to Worden and turn right. We are a block ahead on the left.From the North: Take I-5 to the Rosecrans exit. Continue on Rosecrans. Once you get to Lytton take a right. Follow that to Voltaire, turn right. Continue down the hill to Worden and turn left. We are a block ahead on the left.Public Transportation: (for all routs and time tables go to www.sdcommute.com or call 1-800-commute)*The #923 bus runs from 6am to 6pm daily. We suggest taking a taxi if you will be arriving later.*HI � San Diego, Point Loma is serviced by bus #923. The stop is located one block from the hostel on Voltaire and Poinsettia. From Voltaire take a right onto Poinsettia, then a right onto Udall Street. We are located at the end of the block in a big red building.Train Station: (Amtrak)Bus: From the Amtrak station walk to Broadway (the street in front of Amtrak). Pick up the #923 going to Ocean Beach. Get off at Poinsettia and Voltaire. Walk across the street down Poinsettia and turn right onto Udall. The hostel is the red building on the right.Bus Station: (Greyhound)Bus: From the Greyhound station walk to Broadway (the street in front of Greyhound). Pick up the #923 going to Ocean Beach.
