Traditional hotel built in 1854 facing the lake and the famous jet d eau - the hotel is also ideally located in the heart of business and shopping district. It is also five minutes walking distance away from the old city.With its 127 rooms - including 16 suites - entirely renovated - the Swissotel Metropole Geneva is the best venue for both business and leisure.Genevas International airport is approximatively 7 km away and the railway station is in close proximity to the hotel.

The hotel has two room-types. Half of the rooms have city view and the other half has lake view. Both types of rooms are in excellent condition and have modern amenities like cd, dvd and expresso coffee machines. Lake-view rooms are, on the whole, larger than the city-view rooms. The city view rooms vary from small to medium size.

From Geneva International Airport (GVA): Distance to Swissotel Metropole is six kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive. Getting there. The airport's train station is a 300 metre walk from the Arrivals and Departures floors. Trains link to destinations across Switzerland. All trains stop at the central Geneva Cornavin station, one kilometre from the hotel. Departures are approximately every 20 minutes. Single tickets cost 5 CHF. Bus number 10 runs every 10 minutes to the city centre. Bus number 18 runs every 30 minutes to the United Nations building. Single tickets cost 2.20 CHF. The hotel's closest bus/tram stop is Metropole. Aero Ski Bus serves many French ski stations, and tickets can be purchased at the airport. Taxis wait in the terminal forecourt and cost about 35 CHF to central Geneva. The Swissotel Metropole's airport limousine service costs 120CHF. Prices are all subject to change. Getting around. The hotel is on Quai General Guisan, one block from Lake Geneva. Geneva is served by an excellent tram and bus network. Tickets must be purchased in advance from vending machines, and validated prior to boarding. One day passes are available, offering unlimited travel on trains, trams, buses and 'mouette' water taxis. Secure parking is available nearby. Driving directions. From Geneva International Airport (GVA): Follow signs for Geneva city centre. On seeing the lake, take the road Eaux Vives. After crossing a bridge, turn left. The Swissotel Metropole is on this road.
