More information on Radisson SAS Hotel Amsterdam
You can't get much closer to Old Amsterdam than at this stylish hotel in the higgledy-piggledy heart of the old city. When you walk into the dazzling atrium, you face a vicarage dating from 1650. Because of Amsterdam's strict preservation laws, SAS couldn't knock the building down, so they built around it and incorporated it into the new structure. Two 18th-century merchants' houses and a former paper factory complete the thoroughly renovated ensemble. The hotel offers four types of rooms. The first is typical Dutch, with oak furnishings and orange curtains. Other rooms are in a Scandinavian, Asian, or Art Deco theme. All offer a standard of comfort and style that has made the SAS a firm Amsterdam favorite. Each room has a writing desk, and king-, queen-, or twin-size beds. Dine in the De Palmboom, a Dutch restaurant, or the Mediterranean-style Talavera; the oak-beamed De Pastoriebar, in the old vicarage, handles drinks and snacks. Facilities: 2 restaurants (Dutch, international); bar; health center with sauna; concierge; courtesy car; secretarial services; 24-hr. room service; babysitting; laundry service; dry cleaning Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
