More information on Rembrandt (The)

Commissioned at the end of the 19th century as a luxury hotel for Harrod*s department store, the Rembrandt hotel is situated opposite the Victoria and Albert Museum. With the South Kensington tube station within walking distance of the hotel, most of London is accessible by public transportation. Less than one mile from the hotel are Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Harrods, Hyde Park, and Theatre Land. Between one and two miles are Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, House of Parliament, Downing Street, and Chelsea Barracks. The West End is close by with an array of theatres, bars and restaurants. The hotel has recently undergone a major refurbishment which mixes contemporary and elegant decor with many of the original Edwardian features. The guests can enjoy a holistic massage in the treatment room or take a workout at the adjacent fitness center. The hotel also has six meeting rooms, a beauty salon, doorman, and concierge. Every morning, the guests can enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast. On-site dining includes Masters Restaurant, serving traditional English and international cuisine, and Conservatory, serving light meals. The hotels lounge has a full bar and offers afternoon tea service. Room service is available 24 hours a day. Other hotel services include concierge, babysitting, laundry, ironing, and dry cleaning. Valet parking is available. Each of the 195 rooms have satellite TV, trouser press, radio, hairdryer, alarm clock, and telephone with dataport.

-24 hours, All cancellations must be made before 12.00pm hotel local time on the day before arrival. Cancellations after this time or non arrivals will be charged 100% of the first nights accomodation.

Directions

A black taxi from the airport will cost approximately 45 GBP. Alternatively, travellers can catch the Piccadilly underground line from the airport to South Kensington station, which is 600 metres from the hotel. The easiest way to get around London is by using the Underground (metro) or bus services. Alternatively, black taxi cabs can be hailed in the street. Driving directions: From the airport take the M4/A4 motorway into central London. Follow the signs to central London and the West End for approximately 14 miles. The hotel is on the right shortly after the Natural History Museum, opposite the Victoria and Albert Museum.
