Friendly! Comfortable! Best Location in Manhattan, near Central Park!Summer 2009 SPECIAL ~ $25 PER NIGHT!Office hours: 8am to 11pmCheck In: 10am-10pm. We do not check in past 11 PM.Reservations will be held only until 7pm unless you email / call the hostel to set up a late arrival!CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations must be made 72 hours in advance via email ONLY. No shows will be charged first night's rate. Also, no same day refunds after check-in.The International Student Center will be your home away from home in New York City, right in the heart of Manhattan, in a beautiful and safe residential neighborhood next to Central Park. Situated on the Upper Westside, the youth hostel is easily accessible by subway and buses. The youth hostel offers 50 beds in dormitory style (bunk beds) accommodations, both single sex and co-ed rooms. As a 'youth hostel', we welcome guests who are between the ages of 18 and 35. Students, non-students, and US residents (not from NYC) accepted.Note: a valid photo ID (passport or US driver's license) is needed to check-in.Guest facilities Include . . .Library; Arts for PEACE Gallery; Lounge with large screen TV/DVD; Public phones, High speed Internet;Full Kitchen with stove, micro-wave, fridges; Musical instruments [piano, guitar, percussion]; A special summer garden with herbs for your cooking.We offer free linen (sheets/blankets). Guests need to bring their own towels.When making reservations for more than 2 persons, please understand that you may be in different dormitories. We will try our best to accommodate guests traveling together in the same room. But we also request your cooperation and understanding especially when the youth hostel is fully booked.Office hours: 8am-11pm.Check In:10am-7pm. Approximate Travel Times to the International Student Center, from:JFK Airport (90-120 minutes) by subway;Newark Airport (1 hour) by bus; 45 minutes by train.La Guardia Airport (1 hour) by bus or train;Port Authority Bus Terminal (15 minutes) by subway;Grand Central Station (30 minutes) by subway;Penn Station (20 minutes) by subway.The International Student Center is located in a brownstone building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. Our address is 38 West 88th Street, between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West Avenue, near the 86th Street Subway station on the B and C subway trains. To reach us from JFK International Airport: Take the Airtrain ($5) from the airport terminal to the Howard Beach subway ($2) station, where you can take the A train going uptown to Manhattan and change to the C or B train at 59th street (Columbus Circle). Get off at 86th street and walk two blocks toward 88th street, we are located at 38 West 88th Street, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. OR Stop by the Ground Transportation desk and ask about where to catch the Super Shuttle Van, which will drop you off at the door of the International Student Center (38 West 88th Street in Manhattan, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue). Cost: $15/person. Call 1-212-258-3826. From Newark International Airport: Take the AirTrain from the terminal to the Newark International Airport Train Station. Take the New Jersey Transit train to Penn Station in New York City (approximately $11 one way). Follow directions from Penn Station (below). OR Take the Olympia bus ($13 one-way ticket) from the airport to 42nd Street and Port Authority terminal in Manhattan. From here, take the C train ($2) going uptown to 86th street. Then, walk two blocks toward 88th street. We are located in the middle of the block at 38 West 88th Street, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. From La Guardia International Airport: You can take the M 60 bus from La Guardia Airport to the last stop, 113th Street and Broadway in Manhattan. Then take the M 104 bus going downtown to 88th Street and Broadway. Walk two blocks from Broadway and 88th Street toward Central Park West Avenue (past Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.)OR You can also take a taxi (approximately $30) from La Guardia airport to the International Student Center at 38 West 88th Street in Manhattan, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue.OR Stop by the Ground Transportation desk and ask about where to catch the Super Shuttle, which will drop you off at the door of the International Student Center (38 West 88th Street in Manhattan, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue).
