Located in Playacar, the hotel development zone just outside the town of Playa del Carmen, this resort is fronted by the beach and has preserved an ancient tropical forest at its center. Welcoming groups, couples, and families, this resort includes meals, snacks, and drinks, use of two large pools, kids' club, fitness center, plus parties and entertainment in the room rates. Guestrooms are in small villas connected by winding paths and tropical gardens. All rooms have balconies with forest views and Mexican-Caribbean d?cor with depictions of the Mayan sun on the walls.The 210-room Playa Del Carmen resort consists of 18 three-story villas (no elevators). The resort's entertainment staffers keep guests busy with a full slate of organized activities around the main pool and on the beach, as well as with evening music and dance shows in the La Jolla theater/disco. Resort amenities include a menu of beauty treatments such as: anti-free radical wraps, pre-tanning treatments, body exfoliation, aromatherapy and sport massages, waxing, braiding, and nail care (surcharges for all services). Beachside massages can also be arranged (surcharge). A fitness center includes cardio and weight equipment. Like all major Riviera Maya hotels, the resort is equipped with its own water-purification system.
