Three generations of the Gaiani family have run this former villa, set in a pretty garden above the seaside promenade, as a hotel since 1926. Since then, the original villa has been topped off with several extra floors of very pleasant guest rooms, many of which have flower-filled balconies overlooking the sea (rooms with balconies cost slightly more). An understated elegance characterizes these relaxing surroundings. Guest rooms are extremely well maintained to retain the sort of old-fashioned comfort that brings a loyal clientele back year after year for their month by the sea. Furnishings are a homey collection of old armoires, armchairs, and upholstered headboards, and the tiled bathrooms, with large sinks and bathtubs, are luxuriously commodious. Cocktails are served in the evenings in the comfortable, elegantly furnished salon or in the nicely planted garden in good weather, and guests can take meals in an airy and newly renovated Liberty-style dining room. The owners recently added a pool and installed air-conditioning. Our Chef Domenico acquired great experience working in the best 4 stars in Sanremo. His cuisine finds inspiration in typical ligurian specialities and he uses all the ingredients of our land: vegetables, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, basel. Our cantina is well furnished presenting, besides the wines of our region, wines from Piemonte, Oltrepo Pavese, Trentino, Friuli and Toscana. The dining room is warm and comfortable. The parquet floor and the large glass windows overlooking our garden help to make the atmosphere pleasant and relaxing.
