More information on Vila 11

Quiet, traditional family home snuggled in our 1920's vila, 200m from the Gara de Nord. We offer our guests an alternative to impersonal high tech hotels. We are wood floors, tapestries and wrought iorn,: hot tea, cookies and an old piano: pancakes, backgammon and old books.Our rooms are decorated with family treasures and vary as a result. Not one is the same but all are cozy and personable. Bathrooms are all newly renovated.The coffee room is open 24 hours a day for you to relax, enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and shoot the breeze.A breakfast of pancakes, fruit and bread with homemade jam is included and on Saturday mornings there is a cold buffet breakfast to give to the cooker a day off!All our staff speak English, the owner's French and English, so we can help answer your questions and help you get around.Please contact us if you wish to arrange an airport transfer. (contra cost)Vila 11 can arrange city walking tours of Bucharest, trips to Snagov lake, Mogosoia Palace etc. Car, mobile phone and bicycle rental available.We are pet and kid friendly, and we have no smoking rooms. I must note that we are NOT wheelchair accessible, sorry!**Please note: Your booking will be cancelled if you should arrive later than your estimated arrival time & don't inform us about it!!**

Directions

From Gara de Nord train station: 1.With the train tracks behind you, exit to the right via the Strada Golescu exit. 2. Cross the street at the crosswalk. 3. Walk toward the traffic lights at Strada Witing until you reach a small park by the bus stop, 4. enter the lane in front of the apartment buildings just before the Newspaper stand. 5. You will notice a passage at the junction in the apartment buildings. 6. Through there is our street: Strada Institutul Medico Militar Nr.11. We are the second house on the same side as the Military Institute. It is a big white house. Ring the doorbell and we will be there.Contrary to what you might have heard, Bucharest is a very safe city. Just use your head.From the airport and Ploiesti/Brasov roadTake the 780 Bus to Gara de Nord then follow the directions above to Strada Witing at Golescu from Nr.3.or if you are driving...Take the main road from Otopeni ( Ploiesti) to Casa Presei ( The large press building at the enterance to the city): follow Kiselef Blvd to Piata Victorie.At Piata Victorie take the first lane to the right and then turn left on to Strada Buzesti ( along the street car lines). Go to the MacDonalds ( yes we have a few already!) at Strada Polizu and turn right. At the T-junction of Strada Polizu with Calea Grivita take a right turn and then the first left in front of the railway station next to the fountain. Follow around in front of the station to the corner of Strada Witting and Strada Golescu. Continue on Witting past the Petrom station on the left hand side. Go to the first street on the right ( Strada Balacescu). Go to the T-junction with Vespasian. Turn right on to Vespasian. Turn right at the first street into Strada Institutul Medico Militar and we are the second house on the right Nr. 11. See you soon.
