Le Pigonnet is an idyllic, 18th century country house surrounded by glorious gardens just minutes from the city walls of Aix-en-Provence. Set in tranquil gardens with beautiful flowers, age-old trees and stunning fountains it provides a peaceful refuge.The atmosphere here is tranquil and distinctly homely with a crackling fire in winter and the sound of cicadas on the terraces in summer. The elegant rooms are Provencal in style peppered with Italian and French objets daarts and antiques.Spend the afternoon lazing on a rattan chair beside the pool or reading a book in a shady corner of the garden. Later, wander into Aix with its myriad of fountains and boutiques, then sit with a drink as you people watch at the famous Les Deux Garcons on Cours Mirabeau, before returning for gourmet nouvelle cuisine.Le Pigonnet is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.
