"We would highly recommend having a rental car while there unless your sole intention is to lounge on the beach or poolside for your whole stay." source Travelocity

"Because of the setting I would recommend bringing mosquito spray (they did have a can in the room), We would definitely stay there again." source Travelocity

More information on Carambola Beach Resort

Nestled in a lush tropical setting and surrounded by 28-acres of relaxation, The Carambola Beach Resort is a true Caribbean resort.Imaginatively conceived by architect William Cox under orders of Lawrence Rockefeller in 1986. The resort was inspired by the various waves of settlements that characterize the history of St. Croix. The red roofs reflect St. Croix's Danish heritage, while the French influence is found in the louvered windows. The British inspired the in suite's porches, and the use of mahogany and embuia woods is the legacy of St. Croix's Spanish settlers. The symmetry and central entrance are reminiscent of Creole homes.Discover the golden beach of Davis Bay, test your swing at the famous Carambola Golf Course, enjoy a spa treatment at Spa de la Mer, and feast at one of the three restaurants and bar.
