The 3 star Chariot Beach Resort is like a world all on its own. Some might even say a perfect world. Located at an elevated position that offers an unmatched panoramic view of the spectacular beach and bay front; the elegantly landscaped resort features sea facing spacious rooms and cottages some with open air showers. All rooms include air conditioning; TV; telephone; safe; mini bar; tea or coffee maker; internet access and hairdryer. The resort proudly presents the biggest swimming pool on the coast of India and no detail has been overlooked. At the southern edge of Mahabalipuram is a group of five free standing temples four of which were carved out of a single granite boulder. These temples represent the rathas or Chariots of Arjuna; Bhima; Dharmaraja and Nakula Sahadeva the five Pandava princes of the epic Mahabharata. The creative architecture is testimony to the virile and artistic temperament of the rulers who were trendsetters in south Indian art. Parking is available at the hotel free of charge.
