More information on Mountain Prince Lodge

Mountain Prince is located in Sarangkot which is on the Western edge of Pokhara Lakeside. At 1592 meters Sarangkot is the highest point on the Pokhara Valley Rim and is an excellent step out of the city and into the Himalayan experience. (click on the 'Directions' tab for advise on the trip up) Mountain Prince is one of Sarangkot's origional and most comfortable lodges. It is located 70 meters towards the quiet end of the village. The Lodge has expansive southern valley sunset views and good Annapurna glimpses from communal areas and some rooms. Attached or shared western style bathrooms. Sunny and fresh rooms. Linnen and towels provided. Woodfires when it is cool, Hygenic Nepali and continental meals on request, Gas equipted kitchen, Organic kitchen garden, Wireless Internet, Large Roof Top deck and Balcony areas. Mountain Prince is perfect for travellers who want to experience the Himalaya but with more comfort than a full blown wilderness trek experience, and in a shorter time frame. This is the perfect place to kick back and relax, soak up the sun, see the sunrises and sunsets, take off for some of the worlds best paragliding, and take day treks through the local Himalayan community villages. One to fouteen day treks can be arranged by the managment as can independant & tandem paragliding flights. Ask us when you get here. For more than a decade we have said the same thing at Mountain Prince, Come as a guest, Go as a friend

Directions

Getting to Sarangkot is super easy (by Himalayan standards) and the views are well worth it. We suggest that you let us arrange our own taxi to pick you up from Pokhara and bring you directly simply and safely to Sarangkot Top. This will almost always be cheaper than taking a public taxi. Publictaxis can be expensive because Sarangkot is about 700 meters higher than Pokhara and the road is rocky, hence the peace and views. Be sure we can pick you up on time from anywhere you like in Pokhara, airport, bus park or any Pokhara hotel. Our driver will pick you up and we will meet you inperson near the very top to manage your bags up the final 100 meter assent. (Total trip time- 10 minutes) Just email: mountainprince@sarangkot.com.np or call us (24x7) on (+ 061) 695769. Please remember to make your booking first and be sure we have a room available for you as we have only four rooms. You may wish to note down our contact details now plus we will email you when we receive your booking. Alternatively: If you are fit and healthy and you want a short steep trek you can take a public taxi half way up (until Black top) and then walk using the Sarangkot staircase. For many years this was the only way to come. It will take you 90 minutes in total and when you arrive The Mountain Prince is located on the western part of the Sarangkot village road. Anyone can tell you the way. It is easy. . . . . [Then some words from Method 1.] Please note: Some online maps (including Hostel World) do not show the location of Sarangkot clearly enough although from Pokhara it is easy visible. It is the highest point. Look north from Lakeside. For best results search Google Earth for Sarangkot
