More information on The Fairmont Banff Springs

Standing north of Bow River Falls like an amazing Scottish baronial fortress, the Banff Springs is one of the most beautiful and famous hotels in North America. Founded in 1888 as an opulent destination resort by the Canadian Pacific Railroad, this stone castle of a hotel is still the best address in Banff. Expect sumptuous linens, fancy soaps and lotions, real art, and quality furniture. This venerable hotel doesn't offer the largest rooms in Banff, but the amenities are superlative. With the views, the spa, the history, and the near pageantry of service (the Springs maintains a staff of 1,200), this is an amazing testament to luxury. Is it worth the money? Perhaps, if you're looking for a totally unique experience in historic lodging -- but there is far better value, even at the top end, at other Banff lodgings. Facilities: 15 restaurants; 3 lounges; Olympic-size pool; the famed Banff Springs golf course (considered one of the most scenic in the world); 4 tennis courts; the European-style Solace Spa, with mineral baths, a full range of beauty and health treatments, plus fitness training, nutritional consultation, and lifestyle programs; Jacuzzi; bike rental; concierge; tour and activities desk; business center; shopping arcade; 24-hr. room service; babysitting; laundry service; same-day dry cleaning. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip.
