Hostal Nicolas de Ovando, MGallery member, is located in the colonial quarter of Santo Domingo which seems to have taken you back to 1502. Listed as a "World Heritage Site" by Unesco, its remarkable buildings include the original home of the town's founder, Governor Nicolas de Ovando. Located on the street still known as "Las Damas", the first paved road of the New World, this palace has been renovated and turned into a 5-star hotel with swimming pool, fitness center and exquisite restaurant.
