More information on Fifteen Beacon

Nonstop pampering, high-tech appointments, and outrageously luxurious rooms make this the name to drop with the expense-be-hanged set. The 10-story boutique hotel has attracted demanding travelers, especially businesspeople, since it opened in 2000; a refurbishment of the already exceptional accommodations was under way at press time and should be complete by the time you read this. Management bends over backward to keep its loyal clientele returning, with attentive service and lavish perks -- for instance, at check-in, guests receive business cards listing the personal phone and fax numbers they'll have during their stay. The guest rooms, individually decorated in austere but plush style that's more SoHo than Beacon Hill, contain queen-size canopy beds with Frette linens, surround-sound stereo systems, gas fireplaces, and 4-inch TVs in the bathroom. "Studio" units have a sitting area. The pricey lobby restaurant is one of the best places in the city to see (or be) movers and shakers, especially at breakfast. Facilities: Restaurant (French/American); bar; fitness room; access to nearby health club ($15); concierge; courtesy car; 24-hr. room service; in-room massage; babysitting; laundry service; same-day dry cleaning; rooms for those w/limited mobility Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
