"The overall feeling of the hotel was that it was dying." source Venere

"Although the rooms were very clean (but without security lockers), I wouldn't recommend this hostel to another traveler." source Hostelworld

"Overall a good time, met other people from the US in my dorm and we had a wonderful night, though only one night." source Hostelworld

"great place to stay, large and impersonable but very clean easy to use, staff friendly and international." source Hostelworld

  • Clean: Rating of 4.7 out of 5

"The rooms were nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable but the kitchen was absolutely filthy. Not only did everyone just leave their dirty dishes, the floor looked like it hadn't been swept in several days (even when I was in there just after the cleaning staff had left) and the fridge clearly had not been cleaned out on the declared date which was the day before I arrived." source Hostelworld

"Staff friendly, facilities clean, working and brand new and the set up very sociable." source Hostelworld

"Hotel and room were clean, but there was water damage and mold on wood panel in bathroom." source Expedia

"The hotel itself is simple but clean." source Expedia

"Nice, clean place very close to the supermarket and Altona Station. Its a bit more like a hotel, however the staff are really nice and the rooms really new and clean." source Hostelworld

  • Service: Rating of 4.2 out of 5

"pos: guest kitchen, friendly staff, bar neg: no lockers, free internet only in lobby,." source Hostelworld

"Good breakfast, friendly staff, pickup location for a good walking tour." source Hostelworld

"Very clean, very close to everything, very very nice and helpful staff." source Hostelworld

"I don't think I could go another hostel without the service like this." source Hostelworld

"Well located (10 mins from center) Helpful staff." source Hostelworld

  • Location: Rating of 4.0 out of 5

"One of the absolute best hostels Ive stayed in all over the world:) The subway station, from where you can travel to every little corner in hamburg is just 300 meters away, grocery store just around the corner and of course the beautiful Altona area with lots of famous restaurants and shops." source Hostelworld

"It is indeed located in an industrial zone." source Expedia

"Loved having an elevator and a good sized breakfast area. Need more people at the check in/out area because it took forever to just get the luggage key for the luggage room." source Hostelworld

"the problem is there are curtains for one bunk bed and a small room for the other bunk bed, which leaves us sleeping right in the middle of the "common area" of the room." source Hostelworld

"the location isn't central however there is am S bahn station very close so in reality the central station is only about 10 minutes away, and the reeperbahn is 5." source Hostelworld

  • Value: Rating of 2.0 out of 5

"Price was great - especially after the 10% discount from the Eurail Pass Benefit (Which also lets you take the S-Trains into the city and out to the hotel for free)." source Hostelworld

"Not really a great deal of character because it just feels like a hotel but the bar was a good place to meet people." source Hostelworld

"for the price its fine if one does not mind taking the train to paris." source Expedia

"I was very disappointed with this Hotel, especially for the price." source Expedia

"We booked a 6 person bedroom and they ended up giving us a 10 person for the same price and didn't give us our money back until we went and asked." source Hostelworld

(I've already made the walk here enough times to walk it blindfolded) Group of both American and English friends that I went out with another night. Almost all in this picture also live in my hall, what a fun bunch. :-)
