Florence Hotel Orto de' Medici is located in a peaceful position in the city centre just a few steps away from the Cathedral in Piazza del Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery. It is also only five minutes away from the Fortezza da Basso. As far as parking places are concerned, garage facilities may also be arranged. This clearly privileged position represents an ideal starting-point for visiting museums, making purchases in the most elegant shops of the city and taking part in conferences and seminars. hotel's 31 rooms are delightfully decorated in classical Florentine style, have got old hand painted furniture and are all equipped with air conditioning, minibar, satellite Tv and jewel box. From the windows you may also enjoy a gorgeous view of the world famous medieval red roofs of Florence. A lift serves all floors. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. On the first floor there are two refined and inviting lounges with frescoed arched ceilings and parquet flooring. A large terrace with flowers is also available on the first floor. Welcome to Florence, the Italian city-of-art, and welcome to Hotel Orto de' Medici where you are certain to experience a unique and pleasant stay. This building, which dates back to the nineteenth century, was originally made up of refined flats occupied by the nobility. As time went by they were owned by different landlords until the first half of the twentieth century when the Bufalini family purchased the whole building with the adjoining garden. The Hotel named Orto de' Medici was founded following one year of renovation, planned with the cooperation of the Studio Roberto Magris & Partners. Thanks to the enthusiastic new management and to the professionalism of the staff, a particular welcoming atmosphere and a modern organization are now features of the hotel.

Directions

The airport is a short taxi ride from town (costing13 16 EUR) although it is also possible to take the half hourly bus, which transports passengers to Santa Maria Novella Station, in the centre of Florence. Buses service the city centre; tickets can be bought at tobacconists or vending machines. Tickets are sold on a time basis one hour, two hour or 24 hour tickets. Traffic is restricted in the city centre and parking is expensive, so the centre of Florence is best explored on foot. Taxis wait outside Santa Maria Novella Station. From the airport, take the A1 Motorway in the direction of Firenze Centro. Approach the city centre by following signs for 'Viali di Circonvallazione'. Drive along the tree lined avenues that are around the city centre until you reach Piazza della Liberta. Turn on to Via Cavour and drive for three blocks until you reach Piazza San Marco. Turn right on to Via degli Arazzieri, then on to the first street on the right. The hotel is on the right and pay parking is available nearby.
