More information on Laurel Point Inn
This art-filled, resort-style hotel occupies a prettily landscaped promontory jutting out into the Inner Harbour, and consists of the original north wing and a newer and quite beautiful south wing designed by noted Vancouver architect Arthur Erickson in 1989. The lobby and overall design reflects the elegant simplicity of Japanese artistic principals and is a refreshing change from the chintz and florals found in so many Victoria hotels. In both wings the price is greater for rooms facing the Inner Harbour, though the Outer Harbour views are actually just as good. Rooms in the older north wing are nice enough -- with king beds, pocket balconies, and nice bathrooms -- but the south wing is where you want to be: All the rooms here are suites featuring blond wood with black marble accents, shoji-style sliding doors, Asian artworks, and spacious bathrooms with deep soaker tubs and floor-to-ceiling glassed-in showers. It's stylish and good value. Facilities: Restaurant; bar; indoor pool; complimentary access to YMCA facilities; Jacuzzi; concierge; business center; 24-hr. room service; massage; babysitting; same-day dry cleaning; rooms for those w/limited mobility Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice.
