"Overall it was pretty awful, it was quite some distance from the old town and uphill all the way back, rooms were small and the staff were so uncooperative as to be almost antagonistic; they gave the impression that they resented you being there - there were hidden charges for almost everything." — source Hostelworld
"Highly recommend getting the BBQ dinner for 50 kuna-- you get loads of home made food, the owners were amazing and even offered us their home made liquor after dinner." — source Hostelworld
"the views are superb and the owners are great too, I would recommend Villa Bannana (which is where they take you) but not the agency you book through." — source Hostelworld
"Great place to stay, awesome balcony, but really far away from the old town." — source Hostelworld
"Recommend booking this place and hope you get one of the top floor rooms." — source Hostelworld

"Very clean and possible to buy all you can eat grilled dinner, free pick-up from the ferry or bus (don't confuse it with Dubrovnik youth hostel, you'll waste a lot of time)." — source Hostelworld
"We booked 2 beds in a 4dorm and got a twin :) It was clean, comfy and we enjoyed our breakfast with the best view of Dubrovnik." — source Hostelworld
"The room was clean and tidy, but would have preferred a double bed not a twin, just because you are a single traveller, does not mean you want a single bed." — source Venere
"Rooms are average size, but clean, the restaurant food and breakfast is good, and the staff are welcoming." — source Venere
"Family were lovely, rooms were clean and spacious, huge bathrooms, but the balconies were the star." — source Hostelworld

"Dubrovnik Youth Service left a lot to be desired, with the location being further from the centre than anticipated and the bathroom having a distinct odour." — source Hostelworld
"I would have given this hotel a 10 in value, very nice at a good price, but this kind of service is unacceptable." — source Venere

"However, I think the location being out of the old town (where everything is) makes it a bit difficult, and its on a HUGE hill that would be ridiculous to walk up." — source Hostelworld
"Location is quite far from the centre of town, and not the safest area to walk through at night as there are a lot of back alleys to walk through." — source Hostelworld
"Too far from Old city makes it hard to stay out late and enjoy the area restaurants and pubs." — source Hostelworld
"Beautiful location on the hill above the city, but a bit of a trek from town." — source Hostelworld
"Its located just at the top of the hill directly above the hall city." — source Hostelworld

"We originally booked a reservation for the Dubrovnik Youth Hostel, however, due to lack of availability (we guess, since the owners offered no explanation) we were transferred to a private acommodation in the hills, where we were given a "twin room" which was basically teeming with insects, ranging from fleas to flat out spiders, beds that would self-destruct with any amount of pressure, a tv that didn't work, and TWO plugs for the entire room; both were taken up by a pathetic fan and the tv." — source Hostelworld
"The rooms were rather small, but clean." — source Venere
