Our last day at Guatemala City and we went straight to our nice hotel.  Ken's philosophy is that we should stay in a nice hotel on our first night and our last night. I like that!

We never gave going back to Zona 1 a second thought -- we were never going to go back.  So we stayed in Zona 10 (where the hotel is) and where it looked very safe.  We just walked around Zona 10 and found some pretty cool architecture.  We didn't have much time though and just wanted to take a picture of the Christmas tree with the Guatemalan flag flying next to it as a good momento of our trip.   But then the city had one more surprise for us....

As we were walking back to our hotel, we were recruited by a camera crew of a Guatemalan show called "Yberra America".  I might have the spelling wrong though.  But they wanted us to say something on camera and therefore, we said:

  • (Both) " Hola Yberra America.  "
  • (Ken) "We are from San Francisco.  I am Ken.  "
  • (Daphne) "I am Daphne and we are having a muy bueno time in Guatemala City."

Cool eh?

It's just an example of pretty cool surprises we found in Guatemala. It was a really great trip.  Warm weather in December, lots of culture, and lots of fun -- what else can you ask for?
