Snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, it was an experience of a lifetime. It was the most AMAZING thing I have EVER done in my ENTIRE life. I can’t even describe how breathtaking it was. The water was so blue, and as you looked out into the waters you could see patches of the reef where the water turned baby blue. We started off by hoping on a boat from Townsville and traveled about 2 hours north to the John Brewer Reef. After our Morning Tea we got geared up and ready to head out.

There was a school of fish swimming around where we jumped in the ocean. It was the weirdest thing ever jumping into a school of tropical fish. I couldn’t believe my eyes as I swam around. I mean I have watched the Discovery channel, but this was real and right in front of me. I did get stung by two jellyfish, but it didn’t hurt that bad and they went away after the tide went down a bit. But it was crazy even looking at them…I could see there little bubble on top, and tentacles below them. What was really wired was that when the sun hit them, they lit up like electricity going through them. Crazy!

In between my snorkeling sessions, I went on a glass bottom boat tour that took us around the reef and we were able to look through the bottom and get educated on some of the animals that lived there. I found Nemo guys!! I saw a whole family in fact, a mom and dad and their little fishes. They were so cute!!!

Well now I just can’t wait to get dive certified! I am going to go the first weekend in May as a birthday present to myself. It is kind of pricey but totally worth it! I have two days of pool training and then I go on a 3 day/ 3 night cruise with a total of 9 dives. Two at the Yongala ship wreck (one of the best dives in the world) and the rest at the reef. One dive is even a night dive…scary!! Oi, is it my birthday yet?

Thanks to my nifty underwater camera Dustin got me, I got the best photos out of everyone! I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. Love you all!!!
