We headed to Leon’s rival Granada and although not
intending to be biased by it’s more conservative
reputation, still felt decidedly loyal to socialist
Leon. Granada was certainly pretty and had great ice
cream but we were quite scared by the hostel’s
resident “singing tour guide” who was over keen on
taking us on a 3 hour serenade around town! On leaving Granada we were shocked to find our chicken
bus (previously exclusively the domain of natives)
packed out with Gringos. Granada is being touted as
Nica’s tourism capital and its 2nd runner is the
beautiful and unique Isla de Ometepe…..
