This was our last day in Delhi and we wanted to see some of the sights. I was going to go to the Red Fort but no one else was interested so I ended up going to the zoo with the others.

It was actually quite interesting to identify some of the animals that we had been seeing. There were also animals from the rest of the world. Usually the Indians that we meet at tourist sights are very nice and friendly and not trying to sell us anything. We weren't too impressed by the other visitors to the zoo however. There seems to be a bit of a cultural divide in the way in which the British and Indians view animals. Many of the Indians seem to have come to the zoo just to prod the animals with sticks and throw stones at them. Lynne and Kathryn retaliated on the animals behalf in a very mature fashion.

After leaving the zoo we had to wait for our train to Gorakpur at 19:50. This time we were in the more expensive 2ac which has only two levels of beds and a bit more space. I felt much better now that I was in a nice cool air conditioned train and we had a nice comfortable ride to Gorakpur for the next 15 hours, only 1 hour longer than scheduled.
