  Photo “bit like Great Yarmouth”

Well we didnt stay in Ohiwa, decided to head south again on Saturday.  Not sure why as Ohiwa was lovely, and the campsite was lovely.

Had a treachorous drive through the countryside, not much fun in a motorhome.  The roads in this part of New Zealand I would equate to driving through the hills of Wales.  Its all very windy and very up/down.

Can't say I think much of Gisbourne, it seems a bit like Great Yarmouth, old and tired.  But in fairness we arrived on Saturday afternoon and all the shops have shut up for the weekend so is like a ghost town.  Cant quite understand why the shops have shut at 1pm, but never mind.

The campsite is okay, again we are facing the sea, but I cant say the wire fencing and barbed wire is doing much for me, or the combination lock on the toilets.  On the plus side it has the most 2 year old friendly park we have found so far.  Hard to get Matthew away!!

We have a junk food dinner - Tarakihi Platter (fish and chips to you and me), then a Dominos pizza.  Large pizza costs $11.90 which is around 5 quid - would cost at least 9 quid in england.  Cant be bad!

Oh, and I almost forgot - Llloyd held his first toy properly here!! See attached photo from very proud mum!
