“enjoyed the soccer game” |
Hello
Today we did several things in Garbsen.
First we met at the Junior club and talked about the week and what would happen from this point forward. The first thing we did was meet with the "Bürgermeister" or mayor of the city. They had lots of drinks and sweets for us not to mention a fantastic powerpoint about the city. Then we exchanged gifts and took pictures. Michael and Kelsey did a great job of presenting the gifts. They included a pen set from RLT, our exchange T-shirt that Rebecca designed and t-shirts donated by the Dallas Cowboys.
We were on our own after that. I took a nap! I am beginning to like naps.
Later, we met for the party- All the parents and studernts were present. I believe based on what I heard from our students - we will need 6 more hosts. (So keep the thinking caps on)
At the party there was lots of meat! and other foods. The kids played cards and other games and Alicia celebrated her birthday.
Joshua and Katie presented Herr Dohmeier and Frau Weineck with their gifts. They recieved a Cowboy t-shirt and pen set from RLT each. Then for the club, the kids created two frames of pictures that represnted each student. Everyone was happy. The principal had me sign the guest book and presented me with a yearbook, IGS t-shirt in blue and a very cute Garbsen Key chain. It was very nice.
Michael's host Mom also presented me with a book about the northern federal bank that is absolutely amazing. The Trenk Family asked about Johnny.
Lupe moved to Alexandros's house with Alicia since there were difficulties between her and her host family - but everything ended well.
Afterwards, I went home with my hosts and enjoyed the soccer game. I now understand "offsides".
